50-Miler in Trinity Alps - July 12-19, 2003

The 50-miler starts and ends at the Hobo Gulch Trailhead in the Trinity Alps (about 60 miles east of Redding). We plan to hike to Grizzly Lake with its 70-foot waterfall and possibly bag the highest peak in the Trinity Alps: 9,002-foot Thompson Peak.

Choose Campsite and Layout for Each Night While on the Trek

Take Responsibility for Final Inspection Before Leaving Campsite Each Morning.
