Summer Camp
Troop 233 offers two long-term summer camp experiences each summer:
Camp Oljato is located on Huntington Lake in Lakeshore, California, Fresno County. The camp at lake level is at an elevation of 7,200 feet and goes up to about 7,700 feet. The camp is about 240 miles from the Bay Area, and it takes five to six hours to drive to. The camp is only accessible by pontoon boat which is on a regular schedule during the Scout camping season.
Oljato is a name of a Navajo Indian village near Monument Valley, Utah, and the name means
"Starlight on the Waters."
This form must be filled out every year and signed by a parent or guardian (adults can sign their own form).
The cost for attending Camp Oljato in 2007 $350.00 per Scout. A deposit of $50.00 is due at the February 22, 2007 Troop meeting and the balance of $300.00 is due by the March 22, 2007 Troop meeting.

Last year's backpacking trip was a great success. The route, menu, and equipment needs were all planned by the participating Scouts.
The 50-mile backpacking trip must be completed in a minimum of five consecutive days with ten hours of service performed during the outing. The participants carry everything they need with them for the entire trek, without using any type of motor support.
